Mold Molder or Melt

"Shore at Dusk," 2015, by Meredith Pardue

Mold Molder or Melt

If I have flattened the ocean to make it fit
in a memory I apologize Of course I have
Condensed it Versioned it glistening and glassy
with some roughness to its skin A four o’clock
shadow

There are whole houseboats I have taken
Entire bridges down to their pilings and
then there are the moments cut from the air
like blocks of ice

Mold molder or melt Storage has its
consequences
